Just about anybody can learn to glide. In fact, if you are capable of getting to the airfield we can probably teach you to fly a glider. All club members play a part in the flying operations, so you will be fully involved and making new friends from day one. 

                            Gliding at Lasham

The Chief Flying Instructor heads a team whose enthusiasm for flying is infectious and whose training is respected throughout the gliding world. Instruction is carried out in dual control, two seat gliders with higher performance models available for more advanced, competition, aerobatic or cross country training. Gliders are launched by winch or aerotow, providing a fast and efficient system capable of operating in most weather conditions, 365 days a year.

On the ground, our training facilities include flight planning and lecture rooms fully equipped for audio-visual presentation. An extensive video library provides enjoyable and educational distractions when the weather precludes flying.

Or if you prefer to relax then Lasham makes a great holiday base from which to explore the South of England.

Lasham offers several ways that you can experience gliding. Trial Lessons can be arranged seven days a week and consist of a single flight by aero-tow to 2500ft. The Trial Lesson costs just £80. The Flying Start is a series of two flights, taken consecutively, usually taking about two hours including briefings. The Flying Start costs just £150.  More options available on our new site www.lashamgliding.com

The above options include three months' free membership so you can come back and have another go. All flights include hands-on experience and comprehensive briefings from our hands-on instructors. 

Why not try one of our air experience evenings and do something really different. During the summer months we can offer something special for your company, club or group of friends. We can accommodate groups of between 6 and 20 people depending on the time of year.  Why not stay for dinner as well.  Our modern restaurant serves freshly cooked food or maybe just enjoy drink in our bar.  Party bookings can be catered for by prior arrangement. Having started with a Trial Lesson,  Flying Start  or maybe a Summer Evening group flight you now want to take your flying a step further. Why not join one of our evening courses?  Remember you have three months after your trial lesson to come back as a member.  If this has elapsed then it is not a problem - you can sign up for  a full flying membership or  maybe our "evening-only option" would suit you better.  Whichever option you choose the evening courses offer a great way to learn to fly and also enjoy the social side of Lasham.  Evening courses run every evening from March to September and offer you a small group with its own team of instructors giving you the continuity of tuition that is key to swift progress. Click here for more details.

• Five Day Course (weekdays)  From £550 . Includes winch launch and aerotow training for beginners or more advanced students. A few 4 day courses are available at reduced rates. These run from March to October.
• Two Day Course  Cost £300. Includes 6 aerotows with training for begginers or more advanced students alike. These run from March to October.
• Reductions to the above course prices are available for full flying members.
• Fixed Price to Solo  Price £1000 includes unlimited winch lauching and membership for 1 year or untill first solo whichever is first represents excellent value.
