Dear fellow members,
I am delighted to announce to all members that the 2012 Lasham Regionals competition will take place alongside the 15m Nationals in the week of 2nd-10th June 2012. This is the same week, school half term, as the hugely successful Regionals we held this year.
The entry fee for the Regionals will be just £170, the best value of any competition on the calendar with the promise that, if we don’t achieve 3 scoring days then pilots entered in the 2012 Regional competition will get a £50 discount on an entry into the 2013 Lasham Regionals competition. This week in June is a double bank holiday week with Monday 4th being the spring bank holiday and Tuesday 5th Diamond Jubilee bank holiday so there is even more incentive to enter the Regionals as less leave from work will be needed.
The competition will be run by the same experienced team as ran the two 2011 competitions with ex lasham CFI Terry Joint directing and Rob Jarvis as deputy director and task setter. The highly regarded Hugh Brookes has agreed to come to Lasham to do the meteorology for the competition. We will have to put a limit on the number of Regional places available at 60 but do intend to split the entry into 2 classes with the split dependant on the glider handicaps.
Please contact lasham office by phone or email to put your name on the list, which is open now. Please be prepared to be asked for a £50 deposit, this is returnable if you need to withdraw your name from the list at any time.
If you have any questions or enquires please do ask at the Lasham office or feel free to email me at ggarnett@madebyi.com and if i can help, I will.
See you on the grid!
Graham Garnett
